Hospital visits

This is a rather abrupt departure from my normal routines...a hospital stay. Not mine, at least.
I was confronted with Ron's 'big foot' on Thursday evening. It was a rather shocking sight, and I wish I had pictures to show you but I fear I'd just gross you out. Despite the swollen and red foot, It actually took quite a bit to convince my dear sweet husband that we should head to the ER. It was past 8 in the evening before I was able to get him up there. His biggest objection was that he had an appointment with his regular doctor in the morning and "did I know how much it cost to go in to the emergency room?" well, I didn't, of course, but believe it or not that's not what I was thinking about. Plus I had a consult with my own private medical consultant: Mom. (former nurse)
After a very long evening Ron was admitted to the hospital. It took another hour to actually get a bed. And that, my friends, has been what I've been juggling with the past couple of days. Hospital. Work.Dog.house.schedule.hospital again. It's very draining!
The doctor has said, re:this morning's visit, that they will work to get him home sometime today. Hurrah! Though he'll have to come back to the ER for some doses of IV antibiotics. His foot is responding nicely. Works for me.

Spring--Around the neighborhood

So Buster and I have been taking at least two walks a day in this really nice weather that we've been having. Buster looks forward to them so much that he gives very strong signals when it's time to go for another walk. We don't go all that far. The walk takes us about 15 minutes and we go the same way every morning and evening. But here's spring in my corner...

  • 2 houses for sale along the way.
  • 2 other Bostons live within a block.
  • Robin families having discussions about where to build this year.
  • No buds, no leaves all still brown and muddy
  • No snow anywhere either.
  • 1 impromptu street football game being played by a dozen neighborhood boys. (goodness where do they all live?)
  • 1 white stray cat creeping about the yard1 pair cardinals
  • One very large unfinished backyard building. It's been in the unfinished state for quite some time. Hope they get it done soon.
