Adventures in Driving

We took Amy to the airport this morning. We had a touch of extra time so we hit the mall for an hour or so before she needed to catch that flight out. We were in for a bit of a shock when we walked out the door. The street that had been wet when we went in was now a solid sheet of ice. We could barely walk to the car. The drive to the airport, which on dry streets might have taken all of 15 minutes now took us about 45. We were cutting it pretty close. There were dozens of cars in the ditch and knocked about on the side of the road. We couldn't drive fast. We needed to drive fast. We slid through a stop light-good thing nothing was in front of us! When she got to the airport the plane was "boarding". And she needed to get through security yet. 20 minutes to spare. The only thing left to do was to send up a prayer that she would really make the flight. I wonder, does God answer prayers when we've created our own foolishness? We should have left earlier. We really didn't deserve a 'good' outcome. But He is so full of love for us, and so faithful to us that I think He really would provide a way for Amy to make the flight! I don't want to test Him again, though....

Oh man, we drove through that stuff a couple weeks ago and it was beyond miserable. Glad you got to and back safely!
