Meet Ivan

Have I introduced you to Ivan yet? I thought not. He's been a well kept secret around here though I'm hard pressed to tell you exactly why. Anyway, Ivan is an international student studying at NWC and we are his 'host' family. He became our 'host' student almost 2 years ago. He is from Bulgaria. (very exotic don't you think?) He is the 3rd international student that we've had, the other two being from Korea. We've always enjoyed being around the international kids as they bring a whole new, unthought of dimension to our lives. When our kids were quite young we hosted students from Japan (funny stories I could tell about that experience!), then missionaries from Africa, an exchange student from Germany for a whole year, and one from Sweden (she didn't stay too long, but that's another story) Then our own kids started travel internationally. Jon travelled to New Guinea when he was 15. Amy to Australia, Malawi Africa, India and Korea. Well, as for us, we haven't done quite as much travelling but by hosting students this is one way we can give back, as it were, all that our family has enjoyed and benefitted from travels abroad. It definitely gives us a different perspecive on life and a chance to share all that we've been blessed with! Anyway, Ivan is living with us until school starts again in the fall. He has been lots of fun and has had a chance to babysit Buster, meet two of the grandkids, and he will be joining us on our Zoo weekend in Lincoln in a couple of weeks. Perhaps we'll get him camping ,too, who knows. I'll share a picture one of these days as believe it or not, I don't have one of him yet!

was wondering who that young man running around the neighborhood was.
I kew he was to old to be a grandchild.
